A Missão
A Missão terá lugar no concelho da Lousã, localizado a menos de 2h20 minutos de carro de Lisboa. A serra da Lousã, o ex-libris local, é extremamente rica em biodiversidade, inserindo-se na Rede Natura, que assegura a preservação da fauna e flora locais, assim como dos seus habitats, inclui-se ainda na Reserva Ecológica Nacional.
A localização das típicas e pitorescas aldeias do xisto, em pleno coração da Serra da Lousã, proporciona condições únicas para o contato com a natureza, uma vez que junto às aldeias se podem encontrar vários percursos pedestres que atravessam a montanha e, no decurso dos quais, além das deslumbrantes paisagens, se poderá tomar contacto com uma variada flora e, com alguma sorte, com alguma da fauna ali existente, como os milhafres, os javalis, os veados, as lontras e corços, entre outros. Por estes e por muitos outros motivos, nomeadamente a gastronomia riquíssima, o concelho da Lousã reúne todas as condições para receber a uma missão de Jovens Repórteres para o Ambiente, considerando-se o a importância ambiental do local pensamos ser da máxima pertinência dá-lo a conhecer aos JRA nacionais e internacionais.
Durante 5 dias os jovens irão investigar vários tópicos relacionados com a sustentabilidade local: ambiental, social e económica com especial ênfase nas questões relacionadas com as alterações climáticas, litoral, e do turismo, principal impulsionador da região.
As reportagens serão realizadas ao longo da Missão e apresentadas à comunidade local, sendo também publicadas nos portais nacionais e internacionais, bem como nas redes sociais. A Missão irá ocorrer entre 10 a 16 de abril, o grupo ficará alojado na Pousada da Juventude da Lousã. A partida de Lisboa será no dia 10 de abril às 13 horas e o retorno será dia 16 de abril às 16 horas.
Objetivos
- Aplicar a metodologia inerente do Programa Jovens Repórteres para o Ambiente: pesquisa e investigação ambiental in loco e comunicação em formato jornalístico;
- Desenvolver diversas técnicas como: pesquisa, escrita, fotografia, vídeo, rádio/podcast, trabalho em grupo, competências linguísticas;
- Investigar boas práticas relacionadas com o desenvolvimento sustentável local;
- Produzir conhecimento sobre os pontos fortes da região em termos de sustentabilidade;
- Detetar problemas e apresentar soluções durante o processo de pesquisa e investigação;
- Promover o diálogo com a comunidade local quer durante o trabalho de campo quer na apresentação final dos resultados;
- Proporcionar a um grupo de jovens provenientes de diversos pontos do país (e do estrangeiro) a oportunidade de formação, coaprendizagem e troca de experiências e vivências;
- Contribuir para a implementação dos ODS e formação de cidadãos ativos e responsáveis potenciais jovens líderes na ação pela sustentabilidade.
Custos da atividade
A Organização assegurará a pernoita (acomodação na Pousada da Juventude da Lousã) e as refeições nos dias relacionados à atividade.
O jovem repórter deve chegar a Lisboa pelos seus próprios meios (sozinho ou com o apoio da escola). No caso de viajar sozinho, um elemento da ABAE irá encontrá-lo quando chegar a Lisboa. O transporte para Lisboa é da responsabilidade dos participantes. O transporte para a Lousã, assim como o regresso para Lisboa é da responsabilidade da organização.
The Mission
The Mission will take place in the municipality of Lousã, located less than 2h20 minutes by car from Lisbon. The Lousã mountain range, the local ex-libris, is extremely rich in biodiversity, being part of the Natura Network, which ensures the preservation of the local fauna and flora, as well as its habitats, and is also included in the National Ecological Reserve.
The location of the typical and picturesque schist villages, in the heart of the Lousã mountain range, provides unique conditions for contact with nature, since next to the villages you can find several footpaths that cross the mountain and, during the course of which, besides the stunning landscapes, you can come into contact with a varied flora and, with some luck, with some of the existing fauna, such as the kites, wild boars, deer, otters and roebucks, among others. For these and many other reasons, namely the rich gastronomy, the municipality of Lousã gathers all the conditions to receive a mission of Young Environmental Reporters, considering the environmental importance of the place, we think it is of the utmost relevance to make it known to national and international YRE.
For 5 days the youngsters will investigate various topics related to local sustainability: environmental, social and economic, with special emphasis on issues related to climate change, coastline and tourism, the main driver of the region.
The reports will be produced throughout the Mission and presented to the local community, as well as published on national and international portals and social networks. The Mission will take place between 10th and 16th of April, the group will stay at the Pousada da Juventude in Lousã. The departure from Lisbon will be on April 10th at 1pm and the return will be on April 16th at 4pm.
Goals:
- Apply the methodology inherent to the YRE Program: environmental research, investigation in loco and communication in journalistic format;
- Develop diverse skills such as: research, writing, photography, video, radio/podcast, team work, fluency in foreign languages;
- Investigate good practices related to local sustainable development;
- Produce knowledge about the region’s strengths in terms of sustainability;
- Detect problems and propose solutions during the research and investigation process;
- Promote dialogue with local community both during fieldwork and in the final presentation of results;
- To provide a group of young people from different parts of the country (and abroad) the opportunity to train, co-learn and exchange experiences;
- Contribute to the implementation of the SDG’S and the training of citizens.
Activity Costs:
The Organization will ensure the overnight stay (accommodation in Pousada da Juventude da Lousã) and meals on the days related to the activity.
The young reporter should arrive in Lisbon by his own means (alone or with the support of the school or the caretakers). In case of traveling alone an element of the ABAE will meet you when you arrive in Lisbon. Transportation to Lisbon is the responsibility of the participants; Transportation to Lousã and back is the sole responsibility of the organization.
