Day 1, 16 March 2018 (Friday)

  • Each of the participant will present a personal item that represents sustainable challenge in the country you came from.  At the end of the workshop we will exchange the items.

Day 2, 17 March 2018 (Saturday)

9:00 – 1:30 | Fieldwork – Reporting on different topics related to SDGs
Students will be divided into few groups and will go to interview companies, UNESCO schools etc. Collecting messages, interviews and prepare final work: articles, videos, photos

G1 and G2-Almada – Sustainable Projects: ClimAdapt , Reduna , Urban Food Gardens (agriculture)  + CMIA (exhibition- life bellow water);
G3Almada – Arriba Fossil of Costa da Caparica (Protected Landscape)+ Fonte da Telha Beach (social and urban case study);
G4-Setúbal – Marine pollution-  Ocean Alive(NGO) and +  Visit to Fish Market;
G5-Sesimbra– Fishing port; certified sea food; protected marine area (boat- depending on weather);
G6-Lisbon –Colégio Valsassina: Eco-School, YRE School and UNESCO School +  Oceanarium;
G7-Lisbon –Parque das Nações. Wise-waste and energy urban management + Oceanarium

1:30 – 2:30 | Lunch at INATEL

2:30 – 3:45 | Role of media to support ESD – Power of writing and video messages

  • Inspirational talk and short introduction to the journalistic aspects of writing and making videos and to the topics for ESD work. Links between ESD, journalism and local issues. Raising journalistic skills

3:45 – 4:00 | Break

4:00 – 6:00 | Finishing reports, preparation for the presentation

  • Uploading on the Exposure and social media.
    Other participants have to read it to be prepared for the press conference with questions Preparing articles, photos, videos and PP to present final results of the research. Posting on social media. Other groups reading and preparing questions for the Press Conference Linking journalists aspects with the knowledge of ESD

7:30 – 8:30 | Dinner at Inatel

9:00 – 10:00 |  Screening of TV documentary “The Kamaishi Miracle”

  • One of the laureates at the Japan Prize (International Competition for Educational TV programmes) 2013, which features that preparedness through education saved lives of 184 children and their families at the devastating tsunami triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. Presentation by Kosuke Watanabe, Correspondent of NHK General Bureau for Europe and the Middle East.
Day 3, 18 March 2018 (Sunday)

9:00 – 10:45 | “Press conference”

  • Presentation of the reports and conclusions
    Each group will make a brief overview of their work.(10min per group).
    Questions from other participants. Feedback from the facilitators (journalists)

11:00 – 12:30 | What approach should we take to take an action

  • Networking Presentation and discussion
    Planning how to take an action individually and as an YRE Alumni

12:30 – 1:30 | Lunch

  • Planning a projects for future actions Speed dating
    Group working on project ideas Planning how to take an action individually and as an YRE Alumni

3:00 – 3:15 | Break

3:00-4:30 | Networking: Planning Projects for Future Action

  • Speed dating. Group work on project ideas
    Planning how to take an action individually and as an YRE Alumni

5:00 – 8:00 | Short sightseeing: trip by boat Trafaria-Belém ( depending on weather conditions);
trip by bus: Belém – city center; peddy papper in city center (3 groups).
Regrouping in Praça do Comércio; trip by bus to the restaurant .
8:30 – 0:00 | Last Dinner at Fábrica Braço de Prata;
Fado and DJ (private party).
Return to INATEL by bus.
