Music in Rock in Rio is more or less related with beer, food and fun. But what happens with the packages and the leftovers? Greendot branch of the worldwide network, in Portugal, takes over the difficult role of the collector and recycle agent of the Rock in Rio edition of Lisbon 2012.
The company is responsible for collecting, separating and recycling everything that is recyclable in the area of the event. They need to know and check anything that gets in the grounds of the festival and moreover make sure that everything is being recycled. There are recycle bins spread all over the area and additionally there are several cleaners going rounds and collecting from the ground trash that unconcerned people leave behind.
Although there is no specific laws to impose people recycle, in order to achieve success making people recycle, there are two projects. The first one is about marketing. In other words, they inform people about recycling and they try to raise their awareness about the environment. The second project is about the realization of recycling.
Moreover, according to statistics we can observe a growth in the number of packages recycled and comparing with the last editions of the festival the awareness of people attending the event is rising. All in all, the company is looking forward to an even greater success in recycling.
