With the expansion of urbanization and climate change traditional cultures and ecosystems around the rural area of Góis are in jeopardy. In order to fight this issue many humanitarian activities have been made which highlights that the locals are aware of this issue. An example of this is Lousitânea.

The Last Barrier: Discovering Condominiums Project
In the past few years, wildfires have been a detrimental problem for the municipality of Góis. In order to resolve such a matter, human aid and environmental projects are essential. An example of this is the Condomínio de Aldeias, a state funded complex environmental project operating in 13 out of 102 villages in Góis aiming to protect them from the unstoppable wildfires. But why 13 in particular?
Ceira, the heart of Góis
The “River Watchers of Ceira” is a project issued by the environmental government agency (APA) in October 2023 and funded by various countries (i.e Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein) which aims to protect and preserve “Rio Ceira” while also providing data to the city of Coimbra.
