I will not tell the story about the photography, but a story that I read and marked me.
A great fire had begun in the forest. The animals fled frightened, shielding themselves from that hell. But a little bird, boldly decided to do something to prevent that horror: with his little beak, he decided to get water from the river and lie in the flames, trying to put out the fire.
The other animals told him it was not worth it, laughing at his attitude.
The little bird without hesitation replied:
-Does not matter. I’m just doing my part!

The plastic has become a reality in our daily lives, becoming part of us, at the point of suffocating the seas, the air and even the animals that are the basis of our food. More than 400 million tons of plastics are produced per year and over the last 10 years we have produced more plastic than in the last 100 years and only 9% of the plastic is recycled. Every minute is produced 10 million plastic bags. The plastic is increasing so much that in the next half century, the oceans will contain more plastic than fish.

A refeição diária da nossa fauna marinha…
Deste o mais pequeno ao maior dos animais marinhos, tem sido crescente o número de espécimes capturados ou que dão à costa com o evidente registo da ingestão de resíduos plásticos. Com esse tipo de resíduo lançado nos oceanos de forma crescente e que já chegou a 9 milhões de toneladas por ano, potencia-se o consumo de plástico pela fauna marinha quando os animais engolem inadvertidamente porções de plástico de diferentes dimensões e que se encontram nas áreas adjacentes às fontes de alimentos ou quando os fragmentos de plástico são confundidos com o alimento.

Os rios: a porta de entrada das toneladas de plástico que todos os anos chegam aos oceanos!
Estima-se que cerca de 90% dos 9 milhões de toneladas de plástico produzidos e que a cada ano são lançado nos oceanos, têm origem em dez rios, sendo que desses oito são asiáticos e dois africanos. Se é verdade que os rios europeus e, naturalmente aqueles que desaguam em território português não estão na “lista negra” dos que concorrem para o flagelo do lixo marinho e dos plásticos nos oceanos, a imagem retrata aquela que é a realidade das margens do rio Tejo, em algumas partes do seu troço e que urge corrigir.
