In the municipality of Lousã, there are three villages that are part of a network called the Schist Villages Network. There are 27 villages belonging to this network spread over 21 portuguese municipalities. The network’s objectives are the preservation and promotion of cultural landscape, enhancement of the built architectural heritage, boosting the socio-economic structure and the renewal of arts and crafts. This video shows us an interview with Joel Fernandes, representative of the Schist Villages Network and Luis Antunes, the Mayor of Lousã Municipality, that address the reasons why the network of villages and the town of Lousã should be visited.
