The marsh of Corroios is the best preserved wet area all over the estuary of Tagus, south of Alcochete, Portugal, with a high biodiversity. The existing Observatory of Birds is an important structure giving support to the observation of nature, but it should receive more attention.
The marsh of Corroios plays a vital role in the populations of fish, bivalves, crustaceans and resident and migratory birds in the estuary of Tagus. Most of these birds come from the North of Europe; in winter, 5 to 10 thousand birds can stay in this area.
The vegetation presents a high biological productivity and the capacity of cleaning water from pollution.

Justiça Climática: Uma luta do Ontem, Hoje e Amanhã
Vivemos num momento em que recai uma grave ameaça de prospeção de petróleo sob as costas litorais de Portugal e em que Donald Trump procura apagar as Alterações Climáticas da agenda internacional para que possa relançar as petrolíferas juntamente com Vladimir Putin. Todos os dias vivenciamos o sistema económico e político – o capitalismo globalizado – manipular pequenas ações, em grandes catástrofes humanitárias, cometendo enormes atentados ambientais em prol do seu próprio crescimento e maximização do seu lucro.
A 5 de Março de 2017, na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, com o apoio da Associação de Estudantes, reuniram-se grupos de ativistas, organizações não governamentais e dezenas de pessoas cujo principal objetivo foi discutir e preparar o combate às Alterações Climáticas pela justiça social.
